Operation Poppy - Remembrance 2021

Operation Poppy - Remembrance 2021

Edith Weston Parish Council are working together with the 1st Military Working Dog Regiment at St Georges Barracks, to raise as much money as possible for the Oakham Royal British Legion.

Our staff and residents are getting busy crafting as many plastic poppies as we can – in the hope to make a poppy display at the mini round-about.

We really want to encourage our community friends to get involved and help us create a 'poppy field'. Don't forget poppies are purple as well as red and we want to pay tribute to all the animal's past and present who loyally stand beside us.

Not only will this be a great project for the little ones, but our hope is we can create something special for Remembrance Sunday and also raise money for the village poppy appeal!

How to get involved:

1) To create a plastic poppy, Instructions can be found in the document attached

2) Plant your poppy in the grass by the memorial stones on the mini round-about.

3) Donate by visiting https://www.britishlegion.org.uk/get-involved/ways-to-give/donate
